Palm Springs Members Begin Bargaining; Optimistic for the Future

Reflecting on the past and moving toward the future, negotiations between SEIU 721 Palm Springs General Unit and city management began on Wednesday, April 15, 2014, with the union acknowledging the retirement of SEIU negotiator Mark Reid’s years of service and having optimism for this year’s bargaining.



VRSD Members Win New Contract

SEIU Local 721 members at the Ventura Regional Sanitation District (VRSD) voted to approve the Tentative Agreement on February 26, 2014. The VRSD board voted to approve the Memorandum of Understanding on March 6.

Riverside County Supervisory Members to Receive $1.6 Million in Wage Increases 

Several hundred SEIU 721 Riverside County Supervisory Unit members in more than 30 classifications will receive over $1.6 million in wage increases due to negotiated contract language. The money will come as salary increases of up to 5.5%, many with retroactive pay back to Sept. 5, 2013. The Board of Supervisors approved the first round of salary corrections on Tuesday, Feb. 25, 2014.



Riverside County Law Library Members Unanimously Ratify New Contract

SEIU 721 began negotiations with Riverside County Law Library management for a new contract almost one year ago. Instead of accepting a status quo, long-term contract, the bargaining team committed themselves to winning important gains in wages and healthcare benefits, which would be competitive with other public service workers


City of Beaumont Members Ratify New MOU

SEIU 721 City of Beaumont members in the General Unit and Public Safety Support Services Unit have both unanimously ratified new two-year agreements.
