In an inspirational display of union sisterhood (and brotherhood), health frontline workers packed our L.A. and Lancaster offices to meet with L.A. County Department of Health Services (DHS) Chief Dr. Mitch Katz to urge him to put an end to the escalating problem of worksite bullying by managers at DHS facilities.
Our Los Angeles Superior Courts contracts are set to expire on June 30 of this year, and our Bargaining Team is determined to represent the needs of our members and all those we serve through court services and the justice system!

SEIU members from all over the United States and Canada will participate in the SEIU Convention in Detroit, Michigan from May 20-24, 2016. The SEIU Convention is held every four years.
SEIU Local 721 is leading the way in protecting our members and making our workplaces safe. Working in collaboration with Los Angeles County, our Brothers and Sisters at the L.A. County Department of Children and Family Services recently secured a set of victories whose impact will be felt across L.A., San Bernardino, and Ventura Counties, as well as statewide. In collaboration with L.A. County, our SEIU 721 member leaders, made sure L.A. County DCFS offices were prepared for any disaster. We conducted a safety audit in each regional office, and began reviewing concerns on a case-by-case basis, and are implementing improvements beyond those listed, where needed.
The win puts a capstone on a year’s worth of grassroots organizing by ‘Pasadenans for a Livable Wage,’ a coalition that includes SEIU 721 and our Fight for 15 LA, low-wage workers and fellow unions, religious leaders, and other community partners working to push the city to $15.
We supported and advocated for the creation of an Integrated Health Agency at LA County, and the Board of Supervisors listened to our concerns when they voted to make this new department a reality last year!
It’s official. The 2016 Executive Board (E-Board) Election process is well under way.
