SEIU Local 721 Members Stand United With Our Community Partners to Ensure President-Elect Trump’s Divisive Agenda Does Not Obstruct Our Vision for An America That Must Rise Together
Victory of Hate Will Not Slow the Momentum of Working People; Nothing Will Stand in the
Way of Achieving Our Vision of a Better Future for All of California’s Working Families
While County of Ventura families are reeling from the upcoming healthcare premium rate hikes, the Ventura County Board of Supervisors are taking care of their first order of business, MANAGEMENT RAISES!
On October 20, the Cal/OSHA Standard Board unanimously voted to adopt the first workplace violence prevention standard for healthcare workers in California! Our hope is that this Standard will be used as a template at the national level. All of us are passionate about the work we do and the care we provide to patients, clients, and their families — but workplace safety is crucial, especially given our field of work.
At the table, the biggest issue is ensuring that we have accessible and affordable quality healthcare. We’re taking this fight for affordable healthcare head on for our families and for our community.
We stood together in unity with the bargaining team and our work paid off. The bargaining team reached a Tentative Agreement on a strong contract that will help Lift Up Ventura Superior Courts!
On August 31st, SEIU 721 partnered with L.A. County to host the second countywide Los Angeles Health Agency Town Hall with the newly created Los Angeles Health Partnership.
VOTING IS A RIGHT, NOT A PRIVILEGE! If anyone attempts to interfere with your right to vote, please call 1-866-OUR-VOTE, (1-866-687-8683) or visit http://www.866ourvote.org/ right away!
Public workers have felt the brunt of multi-millionaires’ greed, with cuts to key public services hurting us all, and understaffing across cities and counties forcing so many to work more for less. Voting is how we make sure working families have the opportunity to do better. Our union voice matters!
So show your power and make your voice heard at the ballot box! Vote for candidates who will stand up for working families and make sure your fellow union members vote, too!
In accordance with our SEIU Local 721 by-laws, it is my honor as your President, to submit this report to you on our Union’s activities. To read the full report, please use this link (PDF).
Sisters and brothers: As you read these words, we’re less than 70 days away from the most important election many of us will see in our lifetimes.
