New Stewards must attend one New Steward Orientation and Core Steward Training Workshops 1 and 2 in order to be considered certified Stewards.

The goal of the Steward Development Program is to develop Union Stewards that are able to provide both basic and advanced levels of representation to the members. Union Stewards will develop their skills through handling informal meetings with Management, conducting pre-grievance preparation and post-grievance debrief, coaching through the Grievance process, preparing for Weingarten meetings and internal affairs interviews, and supporting members through Interactive Process Meetings.
Due to Public Health social distancing orders, this training will not be in person but held virtually. RSVP required to receive the training log-in information.
