As part of the certification process to become a Union Steward, all prospective stewards must complete the New Steward Orientation and undergo training in core representation topics.

The goal of the Steward Development Program is to develop Union Stewards that are able to provide both basic and advanced levels of representation to the members. Union Stewards will develop their skills through handling informal meetings with Management, conducting pre-grievance preparation and post-grievance debrief, coaching through the Grievance process, preparing for Weingarten meetings and internal affairs interviews, and supporting members through Interactive Process Meetings.
This is an in-person training at the SEIU 721 office in Los Angles at 1545 Wilshire Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90017. 5th Floor Training Room.
