I’m a cashier working in a locally owned franchise store. I’ve been working in the store for nearly five years and most of the pay increases I have received have been due to the Fight for $15 legislation. Apart from that I’ve received next to nothing. My last annual pay increase was a “generous” $0.14 per hour. So I was happy when AB1228 passed and became law. I was holding my breath up until Governor Newsom signed it. Organized labor has supported the Governor and it’s about time that he returned the favor. Now it’s time for similar low wage… Read more »
