Despite Kaiser’s $3.2 billion in profits this year, they’re raising premium rates for Gold Coast members by 20% in 2024.
Kaiser’s greed knows no bounds. They’re also raising rates for other Californians, including our very own LA County SEIU 721 members who are currently waging a fight against Kaiser’s greed.
Despite Kaiser’s greed, our contract gives us the power to begin Healthcare Reopener negotiations with Gold Coast when our premiums increase by more than 12%. We have the right to bargain for Gold Coast to cover the premium increases.

You can also pick up and fill out a bargaining team nomination form at the employee’s lounge at Gold Coast during these times:
- Sunday, September 3
- 1pm to 4pm and
- 5pm to 8pm
- Tuesday, September 5
- 9am to noon,
- 1pm to 4pm and
- 5pm to 8pm
Either Adriel Peterson or Bruce Mills will be there on-site during those times. You may also submit nominations to either Adriel or Bruce in person, via email or via text.
All nomination forms must be submitted by Tuesday, September 5th at 8pm.
There are 3 spots available on the bargaining team. If there are more than three candidates then we will have an election and we will have on-site election at Gold Coast. The top vote-getter from either of the Mechanical or the Administrative Support units will be guaranteed 1 of the 3 seats on the Healthcare Reopener Bargaining Team.
Voting will happen at Gold Coast: on Thursday, September 7, from 9am to 5pm. The vote count will be on Thursday, September 7 in the driver’s lounge from 6pm to 7pm.
