Latino Caucus – Ventura – Keep Families Together July 28 2018
The SEIU Local 721 Latino Caucus met in Ventura today and focused on the theme, “Keeping Families Together.” Local elected and community leaders spoke about why standing up for family re-unification is a must and how it is part of the Labor Movement’s DNA – standing up for families and helping them thrive in this country.
Speakers included SEIU 721 President Bob Schoonover, Chief of Staff Gilda Valdez, Maricela Morales from CAUSE, City of Ventura Deputy Mayor Matt Lavere, SEIU 721 eboard member Lillian Cabral, SEIU International’s Leticia Salcedo and Congresswoman Julia Brownley (CD26) with special recognition for Gilda Valdez and Jeannette Sanchez-Palacios.
