More than 200 volunteers from SEIU Local 721 were joined by volunteers from the community to organize and coordinate fruits, vegetables, canned goods, juices, and more starting at 10 a.m. to provide families with at least two weeks worth of groceries.
Congresswoman Maxine Waters, Senator Rod Wright, Assembly Member Isadore Hall and Los Angeles City Councilmember Joe Busciano stopped by the food bank, “toured” the massive operation and expressed their appreciation for the hard work.

Representatives from Los Angeles County Department of Social Services and the Parks & Recreation Department were also there to help families learn more about other services in they were eligible for to help them maintain a healthy family.
The food bank was a joint partnership between SEIU Local 721 and Heart of Compassion Distribution.This is just one of many volunteer events hosted by SEIU 721.
