What’s at Stake?
Billionaires and millionaires, led by Richard Riordan, are paying hundreds of people to gather signatures for a ballot initiative that would eliminate city workers’ pensions and replace them with risky, costly 401(k) plans. They’ve got until Dec. 7 to gather 255,000 valid signatures from LA city voters.

SEIU 721, along with the Coalition of LA City Unions, is spearheading Keep LA Strong, a network of unions and community groups aimed at rejecting Riordan’s power grab.

What You Can Do To Stop Riordan
Teams of volunteer Riordan Signature Busters are going to supermarkets, malls and other public places to stop Riordan’s paid operatives. Get involved!

• Adopt a store, mall or busy pedestrian area in your neighborhood to stop Riordan’s paid goons from taking your retirement. Call the 721 Rapid Response Hotline at (877) 721-4968 to let us know what store you’re adopting and where it is.
• Don’t sign his petition and tell everyone you know not to sign.
• Sign and circulate this Petition to stop Riordan. Get as many valid names as you can as quickly as you can. Mail or bring the signed pages before Dec. 3 to SEIU 721: 1545 Wilshire Blvd., LA 90017.
• Contact us at (877) 721-4968 when you see Riordan’s paid signature
  gatherers. Give us the name and address of the location and the date and
  time you see them.

• Riordan’s Retirement Shakedown half-page flyer. Print and cut in half.
• Wall St. Billionaires Out to Destroy LA full-page flyer.
• Talking Points to convince people not to sign Riordan’s petition and to sign ours.
• Our Petition to Stop Riordan on 8.5×14 legal paper. Print on legal-size paper if you can. If you cannot, 8.5×11 will work.

Pick up copies of each of these at SEIU 721: 1545 Wilshire Blvd., LA 90017.
