The Ventura County Grand Jury uncovered a host of workplace bullying incidents in Ventura County government. In response to the Grand Jury’s recommendations, SEIU Local 721 members in Tri-Counties are taking action by forming an Anti-Bullying Committee.
The first Anti-Bullying member meeting was held on July 12 at the SEIU 721 Local Office. Members echoed many of the issues that were in the Grand Jury report and worked together to create the items for a member Workplace Bullying Survey.
The survey will capture information on bullying activities and will be used to create a Ventura County Government Report Card, to be presented to the Board of Supervisors. SEIU 721 will also press for the creation of a County anti-bullying policy.
