LACERA Board Election: What’s at Stake

We need LACERA board members we can trust. LACERA board members make decisions that affect our pensions. Their choices could take millions out of the County budget. We need to support the most trustworthy, courageous, and engaged candidates for these board seats or we risk a drastic reduction or even elimination of our retirement benefits.

“The economic crisis has placed public sector jobs and public employee pensions in great jeopardy. We need trustees with the experience, dedication and knowledge to fight back against these attacks. I want to be a front line warrior in the fight to protect and preserve our defined benefit pensions”
– Yves Chery, candidate for LACERA’s Board of Retirement

“Given LA County’s current revenue crisis, even small funding policy changes at LACERA can force layoffs. We can’t afford careless decisions. I decided I had to stand up.”
– David Green, candidate for LACERA’s Board of Investments

“Public employees are being blamed for the economic crisis, and our secure retirement benefits are under attack. Retired workers need a worker’s voice on the Retirement Board, not a retired manager with an anti-union bias. LACERA should be a leader in the defense of our pensions and retiree health care.”
– Doris Wallace Fletcher, candidate for 8th Member and Alternative Member for LACERA’s Board of Retirement
