I want to continue to effectively represent all Los Angeles County employees, especially Eligibility Workers, with the continued support of my bargaining colleagues. EWs are being over worked, dehumanized and humiliated by management, using intimidation and scare tactics. The only way to stop these tyrants is through strong voices and unwavering members support. Thank you.

TAKISHA CARTER

I HAVE SERVED ON BARGAINING IN PREVIOUS YEARS SO I AM EXPERIENCED AND FAMILIAR WITH THE BARGAINING PROCESS. I WANT TO ENSURE THAT DCFS ELIBILITY WORKERS ARE REPRESENTED AND OUR VOICES, ISSUES, AND CONCERNS
ARE HEARD ALONG WITH OUR HARD-WORKING COUNTER PARTS AT DPSS. FOR TOO LONG DCFS EW’S HAVE WENT WITH OUT LANGUAGE IN THE CONTRACT THAT IS SPECIFIC TO OUR DEPARTMENT AND THE DYNAMICS OF OUR REVENUE ENHANCEMENT DIVISION. I WANT THIS TO CHANGE.

Since being shop steward in May 2022, I represented over 500 members at Rancho Dominguez and now represent nearly 400 members at South Special. I’ve also had the privilege of being a worksite organizer for 3 months at Norwalk, Lincoln Heights, Metro East, and Florence. Having been on the frontlines beside you, I know firsthand how hard we work while the County disrespects us. That is why I ask for your support so we can get the contract and respect we deserve.
