I want to nominate my former co-worker Lorna Beeks to the bargaining committee. I participated in the last bargaining, and I believe that there is more of an advantage to having a shop steward who has been on the front line of other union committees. She is a deserving candidate and has the passion to fight for all of the bargaining unit 121.

EVA BELISLE

A county employee for 44 years. I worked for Mental Health, Health Serv, Public Health, and Sheriff’s Dept. I have worked in Contracts, Finance, IT, Records & Stat, and Administration. I am familiar with a spectrum of problems faced within each area. I am not afraid of management. I say what you are scared to say, “just let me know”. There are17 seats on Bargaining Team and over 154 classifications. I am not here for myself alone but for the hundreds that are not.

Hello, my name is Shahidah Carter. I have been a union steward for approximately five years, but a dues paying and COPE contributor since 2007. I understand the importance of fighting for a fair and equitable contract and have physically rallied with SEIU. I would like a seat at the table for experience.

I have 33 years of service with the Sheriff’s Department.
A proud SEIU Local 721 Steward, CAT team member, and member of other committees and Caucuses. I will continue to work in securing a contract that is beneficial and provide protections to our members.
