Today, the National Labor Relations Board in Washington, D.C., rejected an appeal by USD’s administration to delay our union election and the university’s suggestion that almost 20% of non-tenure track (NTT) faculty in the College of Arts and Sciences (CAS) should be excluded! Our vote will proceed as planned!
This is a major victory for our campaign. Still, we believe USD may file another appeal following the election. If you haven’t already, sign our open letter calling on USD to stop union busting! Of course, the best way for NTT faculty to fight USD’s anti-union tactics is to VOTE YES in our mail-ballot election. With a resounding victory, we’re more likely to block USD’s attempts to challenge our vote and union drive. Please return your ballot as soon as possible! Ballots will be counted on June 18th, and must be received by the NLRB before then. Click below for voting information! |
If you haven’t gotten a ballot, and you believe you’re eligible to vote, call the NLRB immediately at 213-894-5254. If there is no answer, please leave a voicemail with your full name, title, employer’s name (the University of San Diego), and a short message with the address you’d like the ballot mailed to plus a phone number for a callback. Faculty can request ballot delivery to any address they prefer! Follow the same directions above if you’re going to be away from your normal address during break. |
