You may have already heard, but USC transportation supervisors are informing fellow shuttle drivers and dispatchers that because of our recent vote to unionize, we will not receive an annual wage increase until we — as SEIU Local 721 members — complete negotiations for our first contract with USC.
The problem? Annual merit reviews/evaluations — including pay increases — are an established practice regularly expected by employees, and we believe the university must continue this practice by law!
Today, our SEIU 721 attorneys sent a letter to USC, demanding that the university continue its practice of offering merit increases based on evaluations and reminding USC of its obligations under the National Labor Relations Act.
If USC continues this behavior, we’re ready to fight!
