Workers across the country are preparing for “Strike for Black Lives” on July 20 – a national day of worker actions to demand racial and economic justice, including in the workplace. Working people in more than 20 cities will demand action from corporations and the government to dismantle white supremacy and to ensure the health, safety, and economic well-being of every worker.
SEIU Local 721 will be joining with our sister Southern California locals, Mobile Workers Alliance, Fight For $15 and other supporters and community members for a car caravan day of action, where we will be visiting several stops across Los Angeles to demand an end to the three-pronged crisis of systemic racism and unchecked police brutality, a public health emergency that’s ravaging communities of color, and a rigged economy that only works for the very few at the top.
Please keep in mind that if you plan on attending — you must do so on your time or follow the normal time off procedures. Again, transportation will not be provided due to the COVID-19 crisis.
Our car caravan will begin at:
5080 Obama Blvd. (Ralph’s Parking Lot)
Los Angeles, CA 90016
11 a.m.
July 20, 2020
We hope that you can join us for what will be a powerful day of action.
