Enhance Your Career Through Million Dollar Training Fund Courses!
We’re pleased to announce career enhancement workshops for SEIU 721 members in the LA County Probation Department! These courses are designed to provide staff with skills that will serve them now and in the future. They’re being put on through the Million Dollar Training Fund, a collaboration between the LA County Board of Supervisors and SEIU 721.
These professional development workshops are specifically identified and designed to enhance the skills of non-sworn Probation Department staff (SEIU Local 721 members). The upcoming workshops will be provided at multiple locations throughout the County over the next nine months.

Conflict Resolution
Surveys show that managers spend about 25% of their valuable time handling conflicts between employees. Participants will assess their own behavior in conflict situations. This hard-hitting workshop will help you to get an upper hand on conflict in your organization.

Stress Management
Without the support of civilian (non-sworn) employees, all departments would not be able to function at a high level. Unfortunately, many departments do not give these valuable employees the kind of support they need to effectively do their job. Civilian (non-sworn) employees deal with many of the same “issues” related to stress that Probation and Correctional officers.

What is the Million Dollar Training Fund?
The MDTF was established as an agreement between the County of Los Angeles Board of Supervisors and SEIU Local 721. The MDTF is dedicated funding for enhancing training and career development opportunities for County employees represented by SEIU Local 721.
