Two months ago in September, SEIU 721 members voted overwhelmingly to approve the ratification of our Tentative Agreement and yesterday the LA City Council voted 12-0 to ratify the MOU and pension ordinance, making our contract a done deal.
This contract moves our city of Angels in the right direction; with it we succeeded in protecting the good paying jobs and pension benefits that are essential to our members and their families. Our partnership with our Fix LA Community allies also gave way to getting a commitment from City Hall to restore the 5,000 critical city services that our neighborhoods desperately need.
City workers have proven that we can beat back any concession that hurts working families and the city we care for. We look forward to continue working with our city leaders so that together we can take even more steps to Fix LA.
