On April 15, we called on the Board of Supervisors to strengthen public services and end poverty wages. The wages working families are being paid are completely out of balance with what people need to survive.
The daily struggle to pay for basic needs has everyone from working parents to recent college graduates running on empty. Thousands of SEIU 721 members are paid less than $15 per hour. Many of us are forced to live paycheck to paycheck, unable to save for our retirement or our children’s education or even a family vacation. Enough is enough. It is time to Raise Up All of LA County!
Our call was heard by several members of the Board of Supervisors. Both Hilda Solis and Mark Ridley-Thomas spoke at our rally and offered their support for our fight to Raise Up LA County.
There is no separation between us and the community. We ARE the community and the community is US.
Together we can Fix LA.
