David Green has been an L.A. County Children’s Social Worker for more than 13 years. He needs your vote for his re-election to the Los Angeles County Employees Retirement Association (LACERA) Board of Investments.
He has been endorsed by SEIU, AFSCME, CAPE and most of the members of the County Coalition of Unions. Earlier this year his colleagues on the Investments Board elected him vice-chair. He’s also Local 721’s elected treasurer and the Chair of our Secure Retirement Committee.
During his term, LACERA has grown from a $38 billion to a $47 billion dollar fund. LACERA has also produced excellent returns over the past 3 years. Just this past fiscal year LACERAs investments returned 12.1%.Despite the fact that LACERA and most public pension funds have recovered from the losses we suffered from 2007 – 2009, attacks on public employee pensions continue to escalate. David promises to push LACERA to take a more aggressive role in educating the general public about pensions and 401(k) plans.
