On March 29, LA County Social Workers celebrated National Social Work Month. This year’s theme was: “All People Matter.”
The celebration recognized the sacrifices of social workers, honored the dedication of members during the recent strike for child safety, reviewed our victories and set a course to move ahead for our families and communities.
The third annual Champion for Children award recipients were:- Hon. Nury Martinez, LA City Councilwoman- Astrid Heger, M.D., Executive Director,- Violence Intervention Program, LAC+USC- Dean Marilyn Flynn, USC School of Social Work- Miguel Velásquez, St. Barnabas Senior Services
