SEIU 721 County of Ventura members have held actions over the past several weeks in solidarity with the Bargaining Committee. The Bargaining Committee presented the last of its proposals on April 8 and will receive the County’s response on April 25 during the next bargaining session.
Board of Supervisors Meetings
Members have gone directly to the Board of Supervisors to tell them how the County of Ventura works because they do.
“For many years County workers, including the Biomed Department, have had to do more with less. Last week our Bargaining Committee submitted the rest of our proposals to the County. I speak for many when I say we support our bargaining committee. I am here to speak of how the Biomed Department and others save the county money.”
-Emmett Faulconer, Certified Biomed Equipment Technician
“Our members have gone above expectations to support the mission of our department, to support the families served, and to support the County. Now that we are in negotiations, we also support our negotiating team in their efforts to establish a fair contract.”
-Cristina Reyes-Velarde, Supervising Child Support Specialist

Purpling Up in the Workplace
Members, led by the SEIU 721 Contract Action Team (CATs), have also been wearing purple in solidarity with the Bargaining Committee. There’s nothing like a splash of purple in the workplace, especially balloons!
