I JUST REC’D. AN EMAIL STAING THAT THIS EXEC. BOARD ELECTION TOOK PLACE AND THESE RESULTS ARE AS. I AM WONDERING WHY I DIDN’T GET A BALLOT AFTER UPDATING MY ADDRESS AND INFO TWICE IN THE LAST COUPLE OF MONTHS? I AM PISSED OF THAT THIS IS THE 3RD TIME I HAVEN’T REC’D. A BALLOT! WHAT IS GOING ON WITH YOU PEOPLE THERE ON WILSHIRE!!!!!!! THIS MAKES ME FEEL LIKE I HAVE WASTED MY TIME RE-CERTFYING MY UNION STEWARDSHIP. WHO ARE YOU LOOKING OUT FOR? NOT US 55,000 PLUS L.A. COUNTY EMPLOYEES!! NOW I KNOW WHY SO MANY ARE APATHETIC AND DON’T CARE. I WANT TO CANCEL MY STEWARD MEMBERSHIP AND I GUESS IT IS TIME TO START A PETION TO DISBAND SEIU721! I sent a request on April 12th to ask why the election results were not on the web site when Bob Schooner had already posted his slate win on Facebook. Shortly after I sent my request, this web page was up – although I don’t believe it had anything to do with my request. Today, May 13th, I got an email reply to my April 12th request directing me to this link.
These are not the election results. This is a list of who won the election. They are different things in any election I have ever participated in, this union or otherwise.
I would hope that leadership would take more seriously its goal of quality representation and deliver as advertised.
