Show your Union Pride at Labor Day Solidarity Events

Labor Day is a creation of the labor movement and is dedicated to the social and economic achievements of American workers. It constitutes a yearly national tribute to the contributions workers have made to the strength, prosperity, and well-being of our country.

The Los Angeles/Long Beach Harbor Labor Coalition has upheld the tradition of celebrating the social and economic achievements of American workers by hosting the annual Labor Day March and Rally.  This year’s theme is “Stop the War on Workers” because we are engaged in a battle to defeat the anti-workers ballot initiative Prop 32, the Special Exemptions Act.
Bob Schoonover 80x80.jpgOur very own SEIU 721 President Bob Schoonover will have the honor of being a featured speaker at the 33rd Annual Labor Solidarity Parade and Rally.  Bring your friends and family to the harbor area to hear Bob deliver our message of how Local 721 members are mobilizing to “stop the war on workers!”
Show your union pride by marching in solidarity with our sisters and brothers on Monday, September 3rd.  The Solidarity March departs at 10 AM from Broad and E Streets in Wilmington and heads north to Banning Park.  Bob will speak at the 12 PM rally where SEIU 721 members will enjoy food, drinks and music.  Please RSVP online at our Event Calendar page. You can also download an event flyer for more information.
If you cannot join us at the march and rally, please stand with labor by participating in other Labor Day events in your area:
