SEIU Local 721 President Bob Schoonover was awarded the Activist Award by St. John’s Well Child and Family Center at the 2nd Annual Movable Feast reception on Saturday, May 19, 2012.
“St. John’s is a key ally of ours as we seek to implement health care reform,” said Schoonover. “I was honored to receive an award from them.” Schoonover added.
St. John’s is a network of federally qualified health centers and school based clinics which provide medical, dental and mental health services to more than 140,000 patient visits each year. SEIU 721 represents most of the workers at the clinics.
Schoonover said St. John’s shares SEIU 721’s vision for affordable, quality care for the people of South Los Angeles
