The County has stated that the intent of the form is to serve as a tool to encourage employees to think twice before acting in a manner inconsistent with laws or policies.
If you are not comfortable signing the
acknowledgement, the CEO’s office has assured the Union that discipline will
not be pursued for a simple refusal to sign
. Your supervisor may, however, have
a witness sign and note on the form that you decline to sign.
“The BPC wants to make sure that all of our members in LA
County are aware of your rights. You can count on us to keep you updated on countywide policy changes.”
-Linda Dent, SEIU 721 Vice
President, Chair of the Bargaining Policy
