Standing Strong for LA County!

PURPOSE: The BPC is responsible for coordinating bargaining and negotiating fringe benefits and common language articles. It also negotiates or consults with Management on issues that impact all LA County employees, e.g. Civil Service Rules and Dress Codes.

SEIU 721 Member, Daphne Teoh Awarded 2008 Asian Pacific Islander Leadership Award

In celebration of Asian Pacific Islander Heritage Month, Assembly member Mike Eng, a true friend of organized labor, honored our very own SEIU Local 721 member, Daphne Teoh with the Community Activism award.  She currently works for the Los Angeles County Department of Mental Health. Dr. Teoh provides mental health and counseling services to the mentally ill men and women at the Twin Towers Correctional Facility for the past 11 years.

Important News for Members With Dependent Care Spending Accounts

SEIU helped L.A. County employees win a new benefit to fund their Dependent Care Spending Accounts, a popular program to assist members with child-care costs. Starting this year, the county made tax-free contributions to the spending accounts—up to $5 million county-wide for Options participants.
